Drumbowie Primary School is a small non-denominational rural primary school, built in the mid 70's. It serves the small village of Standburn and the surrounding rural area. There is a regular bus service which links the village to Maddiston, Polmont and Avonbridge as well as to the nearest main town of Falkirk, which is approximately 9 miles away. Employment is outwith the village and many parents commute. Over the years the school has built good community links and parents and residents are actively encouraged to be part of school life.
The school is the only community building in Standburn. Drumbowie Primary School provides a full primary education for children from the age of four or five when they first enter to eleven plus years of age. Attainment is high in the core skills of Maths, Reading & Writing.
We are fortunate to have a Multi Utility Games Area (MUGA) constructed in the grounds of the school. This facility is used for a variety of outdoor physical activities both during and after the school day and it is available for community use in the evening and at weekends.
We engage the children in meaningful active learning opportunities across the curriculum and work closely with educational and community partners to enhance the children's experiences.
Our children are very much involved in the life of the school and we have an active Pupil Council & Eco Group.
